Pam, we are careful as can be, have heard a few stories of bears breaking into houses, that's the worst so far. Today my wildlife find was a <a href="http://www.squidoo.com/box_turtle" rel="nofollow">box turtle</a>...I haven't seen one in a few years, and just love them, used to keep them as pets. (yes, I'm an animal lover, even the creepy crawly ones) I thought we might be able to keep this one, but wasn't set up for it, and my dog went nuts, so we took a couple of pics and then took him off into the woods. Will post those soon. One attacked a young boy here, in the Smoky Mtns. a couple of weeks ago. They had to kill the bear. When they did the autopsie, they found the child's sneaker in the bear's stomach! BE careful! View them from afar. They are beautiful creatures, aren't they! Black bears look so cute and cuddly, but boy, they can wreak havoc.
