As I look out the window of our rural New Jersey home, I can almost make out the closest cell tower through the trees in the forest across from us. I remember all the controversy when they first proposed putting in the cell tower. At that time I owned my first cell phone…an early model…a “brick” as they are fondly called because of the shape, so I didn’t have any qualms about a cell tower being installed closer to my home, if done right. Time has passed, and all those who complained are now benefiting from that cell tower. So it is with progress.

Speaking of progress, as a baby boomer, one who has used a cell phone for years, I’m still not adept at using the newer smart phones and need to learn from my daughter and son. Though I can access the internet with my cell phone, I do not yet have a smart phone…I joke and call mine a “dumb phone”.

But I do wonder whether my son and daughter have seen the new phone that has not one, but two touch screens to work from…the LG DoublePlay™, you can be browsing and shopping on one while you text on the other. It has a great camera and video recorder…you can take your picture or video and have it up on Facebook or sent wherever you wish in a few short minutes. The split QWERTY keyboard and split screens give this phone such a unique look, yet it closes down and becomes quite compact. This special phone is only available at T-Mobile.

My, everything has gotten so fast! It is hard for me to keep up, but then again, you can accomplish so much more. I’ve been text messaging for a bit over a year now, didn’t used to like it, but now can’t live without it. I’m managing to do at least a couple hundred messages a month…how about you? Let me know, is 200 a month a lot or not? Do you do much social networking on your phone? I have a tablet with the Android OS, but not a phone with it yet like the LG. This baby boomer has some catching up to do!

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Boost Mobile. All opinions are 100% mine.

I am always interested in new phone services, because the more services there are, the more competition, and the more competition, the better prices can become between services. SO when the opportunity presented itself to write about Boost Mobile, I immediately went to the website, and then the coverage tab along the top to see if our area was covered. Being in a fairly rural area, there were some breaks in the coverage, but the more populated area of the state had good coverage, and may be a viable option for those looking for a change. In fact, there’s coverage throughout the United States.

Like many things these days, much of your business can be managed online. You can pay using your debit or credit card, or set up automatic payments for your service. If you prefer, for whatever reason, you can pay in person…you can even pay by phone.

My husband and I have not ventured into the world of the Blackberry or iPhone, or any of the more advanced phones yet, but it is tempting as we do enjoy being online, and social networking with friends and family, which you can do with the phones offered.

You can also help a friend with a bill, or give a gift of phone service to a friend for a period of time through the Re-Boost program.

Maybe it’s time to take a look and see if it’s worth making a change in service for you, if you’re time is up on your present service and you will not be penalized for making a change.
