West Milford, NJ Winter Wonderland
22 Feb 2008
Just a little 2/29/08 Update - A local newspaper, “The Messenger”, found this blog and picture last week, and asked if they could use the picture. I connected them with my son, and he took it from there, the picture was in the paper we received today, thank you, Messenger, and congratulations on a great job, my dear son, Mark!
By the way, we’re having more snow today and into tomorrow.

We had the most beautiful snow today, making for a winter wonderland on our rural street. My son took some pictures, this facing toward the dead-end of our street. Our home on the lake is on the left, and on the right, the homes are backed by a State Forest. Have a great weekend everyone!

2008 Feb 23 1I can’t even begin to imagine what that must be like. We don’t have snow where I live - wet and windy days but no snow. It’s summer in Australia and the moment but it has been relatively mild with only the occasional day nearing or going over 40C. That’s well over 100F.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful photo with your readers.

2008 Feb 23 2That’s the one thing I miss about living in the South. The seasons really don’t change that much. I used to live in Boston and New Hampshire and I really learned to appreciate the four seasons.
Thanks for allowing me to reminisce for a moment.

2008 Feb 24 3Incredible photo! What a lovely area you must live in.
I’m from the San Francisco Bay Area and, last night, it literally “rained on our parade.” The annual Chinese New Year’s Parade got drenched but it didn’t dampen the spirit or the fire crackers!

2008 Feb 24 4Beautiful! Thanks for sharing. No snow here all winter, but I think it is now spring. The daffodils are in full bloom, trees budding, azelias blooming, birds singing, grass turning green. Even have weeds blooming.

2008 Feb 24 5That is a great photograph! I mean a seriously good, professional quality photograph. I love the overall slate gray and then those few touches of deep red on the mailboxes. Even the power lines work, creating a tension opposite the vertical element of the trees.
I am, of course, glad I don’t live there today! Brrrrrrrr!
